The Importance of a Color Code on Industrial equipment
The usage of color code on industrial equipment can prevent and reduce the number of workplace accidents. Using color code can use on any industrial equipment that can make a high or medium accident rate. The purpose of using a color code is to provide a sign of potential danger of the equipment used.
Color codes can also help workers to give directions that the actions they take must be under the instructions of the color code. The color codes are:
1. Red color to identify danger, fire, and stop sign. This color used for flammable chemicals and hazardous situations that can cause serious injury to death.
2. Orange color to show warning. This color used to show a situation that can cause serious injury to death. This color code is usually used on hazardous work equipment.
3. Yellow color to identify caution. Used to show a situation that can cause minor injury.
4. Green color to show emergency/safety/safe conditions. Used to show rescue actions, safety storage, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and health, safety, environment (HSE) equipment.
5. Blue color to show safety information and safety actions. Used to show action instructions/safety information.
